Today's St. Apollonia Chapel in Hirten (Untere Dorfstraße 2) was built in 1785 in honor of the holy Apollonia and solemnly consecrated on July 12, 1785.

Katholische Pfarrkirche St. Maximin und Anna

Today's church in Ettringen certainly had several predecessors at this point on the Kirchberg. In 1616 St. Maximinus is mentioned for the first time as patron. The foundation stone of today's church - according to plans by the Cologne architect Vinzenz Statz - was laid on June 9th, 1857 and 4 years later, on September 4th, 1861, the inauguration by Bishop Wilhelm Arnoldi took place.

Naturschutzgebiet "Hochbermel"

The nature reserve "Hochbermel" is located southeast of the municipality of Bermel and extends over an area of about 65.7 ha around the former basalt quarry on the mountain of the same name "Hochbermel" (570 m).

Kapelle St. Ottilia in Kirchwald

The St. Ottilia chapel is somewhat hidden on the footpath to the Riedener Mühle, right on the edge of the forest. The very neat chapel was built in 1897 by a certain F.W. Hilger, for the salvation of his eyesight.

Donatuskapelle Oberbaar

The chapel in Oberbaar was built in 1773, restored in 1933 and 1958 and is dedicated to St. Donatus. The still well-preserved baroque furnishings as well as the altar probably date back to the time of the construction. The ceiling paintings are particularly worth seeing.
